WELCOME! to naijacar

NaijaCar.blogspot.com is an open source design and technical forum for an indigenous nigerian car. The forum would have technical discussions and design proposals put together for the most cost effective method for such a car. The now defunct Nigeria car project started after Dr. Ezekiel Izuogu showed his Z600 to the public in 1997, failed to produce a viable nigerian car. NaijaCar aims for an expedited process to realise a dream like an indigenous Nigerian car.
Nigeria is in a great position, on one hand talented engineers, mechanics and entrepreneural minds like the micro industry cluster at Nnewi. On the other, we can learn from mistakes of countries that are building an automobile industry. Cars like India's TATA models, Renault/Dacia logan, and the Sri-lankan microcar are clever examples to follow.
I call all university students, anyone who has automotive or mechanical knowledge, and Parts manufacturing companies in Nigeria to come together and think freely to make this possible. Together we can make the now virtual NaijaCar a reality.
The picture shows one of my sketches.

Hey..it's always heart-warming to see a man pursue his dream...I totally applaud your vision; unfortunately, while I'm also a Naija Comp Sci student, I operate more on the software side of technology.

Anyways, just wanted to say keep up the good work.

I like what you are trying to acheive with all the advanced modelling software from Rhino, Pro Engineer, V-Ray and the help of fabrication procceses like EDM. puting together car prototype components is becoming easier.

Keep up the good work.

Dude,

This is a childhood dream of mine.
If ever one day I'm fortunate enough to have some time to invest beyond family and occupation, I'd want to get involved in this!!

Pray and continue your work. You are an inspiration. We need to think in terms of becoming producers rather than consumers.

Thanks for your great work. Any thoughts about the need for us to be at the forefront of research into producing these vehicles using renewable energy sources as opposed to gas, fuel and other toxic elements? Wouldn't we be adding to the problems of global pollution if we simply went along with current production methods?

Its heart-warming for me as well to see that some people are actually interested in the idea of naijaCar. With constant work and progress this dream can be achieved.
